Mediterranean Ground Beef Pita Wraps with Garlic Yogurt 🥙Sauce
Ingredients
Ground Beef Filling
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1–2 tbsp olive oil
Wrap Components
4–6 pita breads
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 cucumber, diced
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
Fresh parsley or mint, chopped
Garlic Yogurt Sauce
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1 small garlic clove, minced
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
1. Cook the Ground Beef
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until soft, about 3–4 minutes. Add garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper; cook 1 minute until fragrant. Add ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking up large pieces, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
2. Prepare the Garlic Yogurt Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
3. Warm the Pita Breads
Heat pita breads in a dry skillet or oven for 1–2 minutes until warm and pliable.
4. Assemble the Wraps
Spread a spoonful of garlic yogurt sauce on each pita. Top with cooked ground beef, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, feta, and fresh herbs. Fold or roll the pita to enclose the filling.
5. Serve
Serve immediately while warm, with extra yogurt sauce on the side if desired.
