Greek Beef Pita Wraps with Tzatziki Sauce
Ingredients
For the Beef Filling
1 lb (450 g) ground beef (halal if preferred)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp ground cumin
½ tsp paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Tzatziki Sauce
1 cup Greek yogurt
½ cucumber, grated and drained
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tsp fresh dill or mint, chopped (optional)
For the Wraps
4–6 pita breads
Sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion
Lettuce or spinach leaves
Feta cheese, crumbled (optional)
Directions
Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce
In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper, and dill or mint if using. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Cook the Beef Filling
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant. Add ground beef, oregano, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until fully browned and cooked through (about 7–10 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
Assemble the Pita Wraps
Warm pita breads slightly. Spread a generous layer of tzatziki sauce, then add lettuce or spinach, cooked beef, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and feta if using.
Serve
Fold or roll pita wraps and serve immediately. Optionally, drizzle extra tzatziki on top.
