π INGREDIENTS
Makes 6β8 puff pastry trees
β’ 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
β’ 6β8 slices beef ham
β’ 6β8 slices cheese (Gouda, Emmental, Cheddar)
β’ 1 egg (beaten, for brushing)
β’ 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

π΄ FULL RECIPE
1. Prepare the puff pastry
β’ Preheat your oven to 190Β°C (375Β°F).
β’ Lay the first puff pastry sheet on your work surface.
β’ Place cheese slices evenly over the pastry.
β’ Add a layer of beef ham slices on top of the cheese.
2. Assemble the layers
β’ Place the second puff pastry sheet on top, creating a sandwich.
β’ Gently press with a rolling pin so the layers stick together.
3. Cut into tree shapes
You can choose two methods:
Method A β Strips (easy)
β’ Cut the pastry into 1.5β2 cm wide strips.
β’ Starting from the top, gently fold the strip back and forth, forming a tree shape (like a zig-zag).
β’ Insert a wooden skewer through the center.
Method B β Cookie cutter
β’ Use a Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut out the shapes.
β’ Insert a small skewer (optional).
4. Brush & decorate
β’ Lay the trees on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
β’ Brush with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
β’ Sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
5. Bake
β’ Bake for 15β18 minutes, or until puffed, golden, and crispy.
